Privacy policy
Grainstop blocks network requests and applies cosmetic rules locally. It does not upload browsing history or page content. One anonymous heartbeat counts active installs. No account.
01 · Scope
This policy covers the Grainstop extension and grainstop-ext.com. By installing you agree; uninstall removes local storage.
02 · Stored on your device
Chrome extension storage on your machine only — not transmitted:
- Basic / Super mode and per-site or per-page enable flags
- Optional layers (trackers, cookie banners, social widgets, regional rules)
- Manual hide rules from the element picker
- Pause timers and dark-mode preference for the popup
03 · Install heartbeat
A periodic anonymous request to grainstop-ext.com may include extension version, browser major version, coarse locale, and a random install token. It does not include URLs, hostnames, page content, or filter settings.
04 · Never collected
- Browsing history or full URLs tied to you
- Page text, images, or form data
- Account, email, or advertising identifiers
- Sale of personal data to third parties
05 · Permissions

06 · Retention
Settings remain until you change them or uninstall. Aggregated install counts may be retained on our side; individual heartbeat rows are discarded after aggregation (≤ 90 days).
07 · Third parties
No analytics SDK in the extension. This site may load fonts from Google Fonts. Distribution statistics come from the Chrome Web Store in aggregate.
